Science is one of the most popular subjects at Lockers Park and we have a long list of ex-pupils who have gone on to take Science Degrees at University. I think the reason pupils enjoy it so much is that it is such a hands on subject. Today our Year 7s have been investigating wind turbines. Alternative energy is becoming more and more important as global warming appears to becoming more of a reality. They looked at the number of blades turbines had and the angle that they were set at and if the distance of the blades from the hub had an affect on the voltage produced. Mr Iqbal, our Head of Science, has high hopes for our pupils. Which one will come up with a new source of energy in the future? In the meantime, which one will improve our renewable energy supplies?
