Our Year 3s had a wonderful time at St Albans Abbey where they discovered the historical background of the Abbey including how it was made with materials from Roman Verulamium and how it got its name.
Here are a few words from the boys:
He (Steven the guide) showed us the story of St Albans also how he got beheaded’
‘I lit a candle by St Albans tomb’
‘We saw a font, the cross, Albans throne and a huge organ. I was lucky enough to dress up as Alban’
‘There was a very very old bell which was only rung on special occasions’
