It is World Book Day today and anything to raise children’s awareness of books is to be encouraged. Judging by the costumes that some of the children wore into school, we certainly did that today. Of course there were a dozen Harry Potter’s and several Where’s Wallies but many boys really made an effort to be different and even in the case of one of our Year 5 classes, to work as a group to come dressed up as female book characters. Some of the costumes were outstanding – I particularly liked Ben’s Grandad and Spitfire. Well done to all the children and staff who came to school as a book character.
