On Monday 10th February, Year 2 visited Hemel Hempstead Fire Station as part of their Creative Curriculum topic ‘The Great Fire of London’. The children had a tour of the Fire Station and learnt many facts about life as a firefighter. They were taught about key fire safety rules and were able to experience the fire engine and fire equipment first hand. Hector said ‘my favourite part was when we squirted the water all over the houses, it was awesome!’ Beatrice enjoyed the moment when Mrs Newman had to try on the firefighter uniform, describing it as ‘hilarious’! Oliver added, ‘it was great when we got to stand on the fire engine and go inside it’. An excellent trip all round!
