Born out of the traditional boarding school model, our innovative optional Saturday School programme for Years 3 through to Year 8 helps reinforce and extend our classroom learning, as well as cultivating independent thinkers.
The morning, split into three x one-hour sessions and running from 8:45am-12:30pm, is focused on offering additional support in the core subjects of English and Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, as well as Critical Thinking.
Pupils will find also find Team Building, Creative Writing and Entrepreneurship Workshops, all designed to inspire and expand their learning.
Our parents often comment that with our optional Saturday School alongside the thriving busy school week means that there is no need at all for private tuition or additional preparation for senior schools, something which we wholly welcome.
The classes are very much in line with the demands of the senior schools Lockers Park feeds into. Interview practice and other important senior school preparation techniques are also honed during this time.
For boys passing onto traditional boarding schools, this creates familiarity with the rhythms and routines they can expect in later years. For boys moving to day schools, our popular Saturday school option allows them to stretch their learning and consolidate knowledge in the comfort of a familiar environment with friends.
Saturday school can be followed by sporting fixtures on Saturday afternoon in which case we welcome the boys staying on for a hearty lunch.
